Cuffing Season or Codependency?

Posted by Feelings Found on

It’s that time again…

🍁 when fall hits

🍁 the air gets crisp

🍁 and suddenly everyone’s in a “soft launch” relationship

You swore you were focusing on yourself, but now you’re sharing hoodies and trauma bonding over PSLs with your situationship.

Welcome to Cuffing Season… where loneliness can blur the line between love and emotional survival.

Why We Catch Feelings When It Gets Cold

Less sunlight = less serotonin.

So yeah, you’re sadder and craving connection.

But sometimes what feels like chemistry is really just the need for warmth and validation.

Cuffing or Codependent?

Healthy cuffing: “Let’s get cozy, this is fun.”

Codependent cuffing: “If they don’t text back, I’m creating a fake Instagram account.”

One adds to your peace. The other is your peace. That’s where it gets tricky.

How to Survive the Season

  1. Date yourself first.

Hoodies, movies, and everything showers in count.

  2. Find warmth in friends.

You don’t need a movie romance to feel connected.

  3. Check your why.

Want them? Great. Need them? Maybe pause.

Cuffing season is not the villain. Codependency is.
